Weddings, Edinburgh Weddings

We were privileged to be invited to photograph Louise and Cathal’s wedding day at the Norton House Hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

We started off the day capturing some of the getting ready photos in the morning with the bride. As Anna is also a trained tailor and dress maker, she was helping to fix the dresses. We get comments from our bridal parties all the time complementing Anna on just how helpful she is! She’s always steaming dresses or fixing something.

The venue itself had pretty great lighting for us, which makes all the difference. Especially during a ceremony, where we do our absolute best not to use any distracting flash. The room was also huge, allowing us to quietly move around the room, capturing every emotion from both the guests and the couple.

After the ceremony, we stole the couple for a quick wee couples session and some group photos on the grounds of the venue, before heading back in to get a lot of candid photos, during the speeches and dances.

We also always make sure to tell everyone during the group photos, that they can approach one of us any time for a family picture.

We had a great time with Louise and Cathal and look forward to the working with them again as they have us booked again to do another couples session in future!

As for the Norton House Hotel. It’s Ideally located, just on the outskirts of Edinburgh, making it ideal for guests who drive. The Staff were lovely and the function rooms are amazing for natural lighting. We’d love to return in future.
