James and Kayleigh celebrated their wedding day at the Westerwood Hotel in Glasgow and what a wedding it was!
The wedding was a Nigerian and Scottish mix, bringing two cultures together in spectacular fashion. The mix of kilts and traditional Nigerian dress was a sight to behold and an absolute treat as a photographer to be able to photograph such a diverse and fun filled wedding!
The couple started the day in their traditional Scottish attire and changed out to their Nigerian dress later in the evening.
This was our largest wedding so far with over 250 attendees and the whole day was action packed, with games from the MC, dancing, lots of confetti, tom foolery with the groomsmen and money spraying… which is a new one to us!
We shot over 6500 photos at the wedding and struggled to cull it down to just over 1300 photos, there was just so much going on!
Testimonial
“If anyone is looking for the perfect wedding photography team- look no further!
Jack and Anna were so professional and accomodating on our wedding and the period leading up to it. On the day, they fulfilled our every request (no matter how difficult and numerous they were).
Leading up to the wedding, we had several meetings to ensure they understood our vision and knew the plan for the day. They were so kind and were completely unobtrusive – we almost didn’t even know they were there!
The final photos were outstanding and left us feeling like we made the best decision using McCourt Photography – if I could rate them 100 stars, I would!” – James Ajala
After the ceremony, we headed out to get some group pictures on the golf course out the back of the Westerwood Hotel. We had to wrangle together over 250 people, but everyone had a good time!
We broke out our emergency confetti and lined everyone up for an amazing confetti throw tunnel and we think the pictures from that really turned out amazing.
We also set up some challenges for the groomsmen. We bought a bottle of beer and had them race for it. They were so competitive that they almost wiped out the videographer!, but the photos from that show just how much of a good laugh it was!
The groom also decided he would attempt to run over his groomsmen in the golf buggy, thankfully everyone survived.
After all the antics, we headed back for the reception, Nigerian style buffet and a party. The MC kept everyone entertained throughout the evening with games, comedy and dancing. There was never a dull moment at this wedding.
The couple also switched out to their Nigerian dress, which made for an amazing contrast and amazing wedding photos.
We also got to experience our first money spraying, which is a Nigerian tradition where everyone comes up to the couple and throws money at them to make them happy… It made me wonder why Anna and I didn’t do that at out wedding!
