Edinburgh Weddings, Weddings

We had the pleasure of joining Gemma and Gavin at the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

It was a foggy and rainy day, so we had to work around the weather and take advantage of the dry spells during the day, to get outside to do some couples photos and we managed to utilize the front of the building where they had some cover for the group photos. We do love a good challenge and made the most of what the Dalmahoy Hotel had to offer!

A couple of the kids belonging to the guests showed an interest in photography, so Anna was more than happy to recruit them for the day to help get some truly unique shots. Hopefully we weren’t breaking too many child labor laws there! Perhaps there is a future in photography for them, because they did an amazing job helping us document the Gemma and Gavin’s wedding day.

For the night shots, we got out 2 of our strobe flashes, mounted on stands in opposite corners of the room with a flash on each of our cameras. This helped us bring some light to the dance floor, enabling us to get some crisp photos at night. We like to dial in just enough flash to help us get the shot, without flooding the whole room and losing the ambiance.

It ended up being an amazing day and we truly enjoyed spending the day with Gemma and Gavin, along with their guests. We wish them all the best in their marriage.
