Weddings, Glasgow Weddings

We had the privilege of joining Debby and Bhasky to photograph their big day at the Bowfield Hotel and Spa. It was a Scottish/Indian cross wedding before their even bigger Indian wedding over in India, which we may be in attendance for there too!

They had us both for the full day, so we started off with the getting ready portion of the day. Anna stayed with the girls and I went to spend some time with the lads in their cabin.

We then helped arrange a first look with Debby’s dad and then the bridal party, making sure to capture every emotion.

For the ceremony, I was hidden at the front of the room behind Debby and Bhasky to capture everything from a different angle and to get the reactions of the guests, while Anna was at the back of the room, getting some stunning shots from down the isle.

After the ceremony, we had to time our group shots perfectly due to the weather being less than ideal, so we gave everyone some time to grab a drink and then we jumped at the first sign of the rain clearing up to get everyone outside for those all important family photos.

We then went for a wander with the couple, so they could get a little quiet time and do a couple shoot with us. This ended up being so much fun and they naturally fell into the rhythm of it despite saying they were camera shy. We always like to get our couples doing something natural, to ease them into being in front of the camera and Debby & Bhasky were absolute naturals.

We then moved on to capturing the speeches, making sure to get reactions from the guests and the couple. Having both me and Anna there makes this much easier to achieve without missing any moments.

Once it got dark, we thought we would try something new, where we got the umbrellas out and shot a flash up the back to illuminate the couple in the darkness. We think the results are quite striking!

Before we left, the couple said they had brought sparklers, so we went outside again to capture the fun and experimented with some longer exposures to draw some shapes with the sparklers, making for a pretty cool effect!

Debby and Bhasky have said they liked working with us so much, that they are looking at the possibility of flying us out to India to shoot their Indian wedding there!

We wish Debby and Bhasky all the best in their marriage.
