Weddings, Edinburgh Weddings

We had the pleasure of joining Aime and Stephen to photograph their big day in Haddington.

To start off the day we were with the couple for them getting ready. This is where having a husband and wife wedding photography team makes the difference, because we were able to split up and capture both at the same time. Anna got some amazing photos of Aime getting her hair and makeup done with her family and I managed to capture some touching pictures of Stephen making sure their 3 boys look sharp in their kilts

We then moved on to the Haddington registry office for the main ceremony, where we managed to capture the emotion of the couple as they celebrated their marriage. We then organised the guests to line up outside to do a huge confetti throw at the entrance of the registry office, which resulted in some truly amazing wedding photos. We do love a good confetti throw, which is why we always have a few bags of bio degradable confetti in various colours in our bags.

After the ceremony we stopped off for a quick pint at the local pub on the way to St Mary’s Pleasance, which made for the perfect backdrop to grab some group shots with the trees lining the background, then to get in among the trees for some truly beautiful, intimate couples pictures, under the natural framing from the arching trees.

We then moved on to the waterside bistro for some speeches and delicious food and drinks. We had to crack out the flashes and balance them out with some CTO gels to match the lighting in the room and lift up the lighting.

After the food we were on the move again, continuing our tour of Haddington, to go to the Rugby club for party time! The couple had family that were rock band members, who put on an amazing show and really got the energy of the night going.

Weddings like this make us feel blessed to be wedding photographers. We ended up having a blast spending the day with Aime and Stephen with their amazing family. We wish them a long and happy road ahead!
